Monday Transfer Round-Up: Done Deals and Latest Rumours
The transfer mill is continuing to turn over - check in to see what you missed from the weekend
DONE DEALS
River Plate to Real Madrid (€45m)
The hottest property in Argentine football had been linked with numerous clubs but in the end, it's Real Madrid - as seems inevitable - that got him. Madrid are being majorly aggressive this summer after a disappointing 24/25 and have the financial resource to not only buy the current crop of talent - but the next one, too.
Our current ETV is €18.6m, which represent a massive overpayment, but with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Reinier, Real Madrid have previous on spending over the odds on high-tariff South American talent.
Bayern Munich to Tottenham (€35m)
The talented French attacker only showed glimpses of his talent in his loan deal to London from Munich but clearly he showed enough that the club chose to make the transfer permanent. Incoming boss Thomas Frank has made his first summer signing, whether he wanted him or not, it seems.
Leverkusen to Atalanta (€20m)
Bayer Leverkusen are building a reputation out of developing attackers and making a profit on them: Moussa Diaby, Leon Bailey and now Florian Wirtz. Before these mega-money deals, Leverkusen’s area of expertise would have been seen as churning out defenders. Strong and excellent on the ball, Koussonou called Jerome Boateng one of his heroes when he moved to Germany and was nominated for the Golden Boy, and the comparison is a good one as both are proven winners.
Olympiacos to Brighton (€35m)
The exceptionally highly-rated young Greek forward is another big statement of intent from Brighton after their hefty spending last summer, bringing in the highest valued teenager in Greece via our Estimated Transfer Value metric. He will compete in what is rapidly becoming one of the youngest and most talented squads in the Premier League.
Arsenal to Cruziero (€3m)
The Brazilian wide player was highly-respected by the Gunners when he joined in 2022 but barely featured outside of cup competitions and spent spells out on loan - Arsenal have chosen to cut their losses and collect a knockdown fee for a player who didn't make the grade.
